WINGATE, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Vera E. Grenard, 54, of Wingate Route 1, died at 9 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 18, 1973) at Culver Hospital. Born Sept. 5, 1918, in Romney, she was the daughter of Loenard and Iva Montgomery Lamkin. She was married May 6, 1939, to Byron Grenard, who survives. They had resided on a farm two and a half miles southeast of Wingate. She was formerly employed at R. R. Donnelly Co. at Crawfordsville and as a cook at Coal Creek Central School. She was a 1936 graduate of Wingate High and a member of the Elmdale Community Church and organizations. Other survivors include her mother of Crawfordsville; a son, Doug at home; a daughter, Mrs. Sally Nesbitt of New Richmond; three sisters, Miss Dorothy Lamkin and Mrs. Virginia Beach, both of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Geneva Hardaway of Lebanon; a niece and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her father. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home. The Rev. Jack Swank and the Rev. Guy E. Tremaine will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery at Wingate. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. The family has requested any memorials be in the form of donations to the Cancer Fund.
